Sources of biological inspiration

Throughout its evolution, living beings have developped numerous capacities to adapt to very constrained environments. Inspiration from nature's various “innovations” can overcome many industrial challenges. We continually write articles describing the biological wonders that we have had the opportunity to decipher in the context of our jobs as biomimetics.

Each living organism, ranging from animals to mushrooms, including plants, bacteria, micro-organisms, etc., has a structure, carries out processes, is made of materials, develops behavior, etc. from which we can draw inspiration and transpose in order to develop products, services or processes that are sustainable, functional and environmentally friendly .

One of the challenges of the biomimetic engineer is to transpose a biological innovation into a technical innovation to respond to a problem. In our articles “ Biomimicry in all its forms ”, you can discover how biomimicry can be applied to different industrial fields.
